Cantors
High School students through Adults who lead the congregation in song for Weekend Liturgies, Feast Days, and Holy Days. Must possess an ability to read music, and have a pleasant singing voice. Auditions with the Liturgical Music Director and Parish Organist are required.
Cantors are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the monthly Cantor rehearsal so that they are comfortable with all upcoming music, new Mass settings, and Liturgy changes.
Rehearsals will be the First Thursday of every month at 6:15pm unless otherwise noted.
Cantor Training Program
Any High School student or Adult who wishes to join the Cantor Ministry is required to complete a basic cantor training program which will be taught by the Liturgical Music Director. General instruction on proper Altar etiquette, cantoring techniques, and Mass sequence are a few of the topics that will be covered. A minimum of two Masses will be cantored in tandem with a "veteran" cantor before being allowed to cantor on one's own.
Please contact Jessica Springer at the Parish Office (282-2308) if you are interested in becoming a cantor for Weekend Liturgies.
