Parish Outreach Ministries
Advent Giving Tree
This annual project provides the parish community with opportunities to share with the less fortunate of our neighborhoods through the contribution of gifts and food during the Christmas Season.
Center for the Homeless & Hope Rescue Mission
These centers serve the needs of the destitute and homeless. The parish participates through the supply of food and meals for the residents.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
The local Parish membership is dedicated to serving the needs of individuals/families who are in temporary distress situations. On the last Sunday of each month, there is a FOOD DRIVE which helps to replenish the shelves of the Food Bank.
The Ministry of Healing & Justice (The Tribunal)
It could be that some persons are not fully participating in the life of the Church because of an irregularity in their marriage situation…either they entered marriage 'outside the Church' or they entered a second marriage subsequent to a civil divorce. Such circumstances may need the intervention of the Healing and Justice Ministry of the Church through the Diocesan Tribunal. Talk with the Pastor and he will assist you to seek a resolution to the situation.
Nursing Home Ministry
The Nursing Home Ministry brings Holy Communion to parishioners in nursing homes. Please let the Parish Office know if someone needs this ministry. The ministry is an important one to enable the sick to remain in touch with the Eucharist as well as the larger parish family.
Ministry of Bereavement & Consolation
This ministry consists of a group of parishioners who are assisted by the Pastor in extending a 'helping hand' at the time of death or serious illness. These persons attend to specific needs pertaining to the celebration of funeral liturgies, coordinating transportation if needed, etc.
Funeral Luncheon
To afford the family and friends of a deceased to gather and share memories following a funeral service, we offer our parish facilities to registered and active parishioners. A Funeral Luncheon Committee provides a pot-luck meal with dishes provided by volunteers in the parish.
Social Life Committee
We are in the process of forming such a Committee to provide opportunities for the community to gather in fellowship and fun.
Social Concerns
The Committee is dedicated to creating and maintaining social service ministries, founded on charity, truth & hope, within the parish jurisdiction.
Parish Nurse Program
The Parish Nurse Program provides regular blood pressure screenings for interested parishioners the second Sunday of the month after all Sunday morning Masses. The group provides educational presentations to groups upon request and assists homebound parishioners if notified. |
